TORONTO – The parent company of Tim Hortons and Burger King is committing to serving cage-free eggs whatsoever Canadian, American and Mexican locations by 2025.
Restaurant Brands International joins a growing listing of restaurants which have promised to dish up eggs sourced only from hens which have not been confined to cages.
Denny’s has promised its U.S. restaurants would serve only cage-free eggs by 2026, McDonald’s committed to doing exactly the same at its Canadian and American locations by 2025, and Starbucks plans to meet that goal by 2020.

In December, Nestle SA announced it’ll stop using eggs laid by caged hens in the U.S. products by 2020, which makes it the largest packaged food company to go cage-free amid pressure from consumers and animal-rights groups.
The Canadian wing of Humane Society International applauded the announcement from Restaurant Brands International, saying it is dealing with a large number of companies to follow suit.
