ATHENS – Canadian miner Eldorado Gold’s Greek unit Hellas Gold said it was granted a licence from Greece’s environment and ministry because of its Olympias mine project.
The Vancouver-based miner have been in a dispute using the Greek government over intends to develop gold mines inside a forested area in northern Greece, with Athens voicing environmental concerns within the project.

“The project are now able to continue to ensure that in the first quarter of 2017 the ore that’ll be produced in the mine will be processed in the Olympias facility,” Hellas Gold said.
Eldorado has invested about US$700 million to build up the Skouries and Olympias mines since 2012 and intends to invest another US$1 billion in the projects.
