Walmart Canada is bringing its “click and collect” online grocery service to Toronto now.
The retailer first rolled out we’ve got the technology at its 11 Ottawa stores last summer, allowing customers to place online orders for fresh and packaged groceries and household items and get them from store staff at dedicated parking spots outside its superstores.
In Toronto, the service is going to be offered initially at 12 stores. It requires orders up to 21 days ahead of time and has a pickup fee of $3.

“It’s going really well in Ottawa – the response has been phenomenal,” said Simon Rodrigue, senior vice-president of e-commerce for Walmart Canada. “We know there exists a service here that Canadians want,” he added, anticipating the service will unveil with other regions of the nation. “I have no idea anyone who isn’t time-starved. This can be a way of providing people with back an hour or two a week.”
In Toronto, the organization will start taking online orders for stores around the west side on Wednesday for pickups starting Feb. 9, and on the east side from the city customers can place orders starting Feb. 18 for pickup beginning on Feb. 23. The Walmart service goes head-to-head in Toronto having a Loblaw pilot of click-and-collect groceries at three of its stores.
